The chart compares fish bought from US to other countries, with the table giving the breakdown of the costs for the years; 1988, 1992 and 2000.
Overall, it is clearly evident that supplies of fish from United States to Canada dropped notably, whereas China increased its importation over the time period. For the sum of value spent in the years shown, there was a considerable rise.
With regards to the total expenditure over the time frame, in 1988, a total of 6.57 billion dollars was recorded. However, after the 12 year period, the figure had shot up by roughly 4 billion dollars, being higher than the previous years.
In terms of importing fish from US, in 1988 Canadians were by far the most predominant with a proportion of 60%, while China and other nations accounted for 40%. After 4 years, fish received by China and other countries went up to 20% and nearly a half respectively, but, Canada experienced a massive decline to around a third. In the year end, the rate of China's imports had increased to 30%, with both Canada and other countries going down slightly.
