On a recent holiday you lost a valuable item. Fortunately you have travel insurance to cover the cost of anything lost.
Write a letter to the manager of your insurance company. In your letter
1. Describe the item you lost
2. explain how you lost it
3. tell the insurance company what you would like them to do
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a recent customer of your insurance company. I have acquired a travel insurance for my trip to Thailand with my family on 28th September. Unfortunately, I lost one of my check-in baggage at the Mumbai International airport. Out of the two check-in baggage, the one which I had lost, was a green color American tourister bag, which had 23 kg of items. The contents include clothes, cooking utensils, valuable electronic devices and some basic utilities all worth around Rs. 35000.
I travelled with Jet airways and I had to take a connecting flight from Mumbai. Earlier, the airline staff told me that my baggage would be transferred to the next flight when I inquired them. Moreover, while landing at the Mumbai airport, I again checked with the officials at the airline's counter and they promised me that my baggage would be checked in to the next flight. After landing at Thailand International airport, I was shocked to know that I lost my baggage. I immediately submitted a form mentioning the details of my baggage. After reaching the hotel, I came to know that I lost my baggage permanently.
As per the policies stated in the travel insurance, I am entitled to claim 70 percent value of my lost baggage withing 10 days of the incident. I hereby request you to process my claim request. I would also submit a claim request form. My insurance number is SNT48MK7.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely
Prasanth Gunasekaran
