Nowadays animal experiments are widely used to develop new medicines to treat the safety of other products. some people argue that these experiments should be banned because it is moraly wrong to cause animals to suffer, while others are in favour of them because of their benefits to humanity
It is no doubt that it has been many years ago that animals are used as a guinea pig to test the safety of a medication before they can be sold on the market. This issue has brought a concern in today’s world whether this practise should be continued for the benefit of human kind or should it be banned?
To my opinion, there are few reasons why animal experiments should be maintained. The main reason would be that, it help t ensure the safety of one’s medication before it can be consumed by human. In addition, these also allow scientist to find out the patency of a particular medication. When the safety of these medication are assured, it can be therefore sells into the market. This hence, allow more customer to buy those product and indirectly, helps to improve the economic of a country. Additionally, by using animal for experiment, this means that more animal should be breed. Scientist can therefore learn different method of breeding from the experiment.
However, if there are too many animals being used for experiment, it can cause an extinction to that particular animal and hence cause an imbalance in the ecosystem. Beside from that, people will not be left with many meat to be consumed if too many animals being used. Lastly, some animals cannot be breed for example, such as wildlife animal and so if we use them excessively for experiment it will cause them to extinct.
In conclusion, government should impose higher tax for medicine fo using experiment nor using the animal itself for the product. Other scientist on the other hand, should work together finding other option of experiment that does not involve animal.
