Some people think it is illegal to take money from people’s monthly salary by the local government. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Living in a modern society where legislation on taxes is quite normal, every citizen should assume the responsibility of paying taxes. However, there are still a large number of people who regard it unreasonable and even illegal for government of people who regard it unreasonable and even illegal for government to take money from individuals’ monthly salary. Personally, I am not favor of this view.
First of all, it is ridiculous for individuals to judge whether it is illegal or not to pay taxes to the government, since as the legislator of tax laws, the government has the legal rights to put tax laws into practice and make the legal rights to put tax laws into practice and make it legal and compulsory for every citizen. So, once the regulation of compulsory tax is written in the code, it is unimpeachably legal and every citizen should abide by the law.
Secondly, paying taxes to local government is reasonable and understandable. Throughout history, paying taxes has always been one of indisputable responsibilities the citizens should undertake, no matter how much money they would pay to the government. Moreover, tax in modern society plays a pivotal role in redistributing the social wealth and ensuring the promotion of standard of living for the whole society. In other words, the money taken from the individuals as taxes would finally pay back in other forms such as better conditions of public health care and public education, which surely exists but often neglected by many citizens who only pay attention to their own lives.
Lastly, it is every citizens’ responsibility to pay taxes as a basic fund for the construction of public infrastructure. Enjoying the convenience provided by public infrastructure, one should care about the maintenance of such facilities, and taxes provide us an approach to participate in the public services.
All in all, as an individual who benefit from public services, every citizens should undertake their responsibilities of paying taxes, regardless of compulsory regulation of tax issues written in the code.
