The article is about Electoral college and provides reasons to support. However, the professor explains that Electoral college made people confound for four years and refute each of the author's point.
First, the reading claims that direct popular vote was rejected by the smaller states, thinking they would be dominated by the larger states in the national elections. The professor refutes this point by saying that electoral votes are provided to a state according to its population. He states that if three electoral vote are provided to a state with less population and one or two electoral votes are provided to state with large population, is not a correct way for the election.
Second, the article posits that many people in government feel the electoral college has served the country well. However, the professor says that hearing peoples voice is most important that government can do. He says that the true democratic country is that dividing the country according to the population in which the government is selected by the majority of the people.
In conclusion, the professor refutes the points given in the article and explains the correct way for the election.
