The advantages and disadvantages of the Internet

In the 4.0 era, science and technology have dramatically developed, especially the internet. It can not be denied that the internet brings us many advantages, but internet users today are influenced positively and even negatively

First, using the internet too much causes serious physical and even mental problems. Too much exposure to the internet negatively impacts our health, leads to depression or worse, autism. The internet also makes us become less active, students nowadays would sit in front of the screen to watch some football matches and not go out and play some real football games. Additionally, the internet is rather distracting, as there are plenty of video games and social networks which can cause addition. As is commonly known, addiction is not easy to get rid of. The result of which is that, it is not difficult for teenagers nowadays to commit crime and hence, make it become a bigger social evil.

Despite those disadvantages, the internet also provides us a lot of benefits. It is the unlimited source of information which gives us a better understanding of the outside world. The internet is also the method of connection between people and people, thanks to the internet, people can now contact their friends, family and colleagues faster and more efficiently than in the past. Most people have internet connection on their mobile or computer and as a result, they can always stay connected with their near and dear ones. Therefore, the internet is the necessary tool for us to live in the 4.0 era

In conclusion, the internet has greatly benefited people in different ways. Although it has some negative aspects, I strongly believe that it is still the way people use the internet that decides whether we are exposed more to its benefits or drawbacks
