Bad and goods of eco-certified wood.
Well, the first argument that the lecture defies the reading it is about the fact that the reading says that American consumers would not pay attention to the advertising of eco-certified wood, the lecture makes the point that consumers that care about environmental causes would definitely care about such ads.
The second argument made by the reading is that consumers would not be happy either willing to pay higher prices for eco-certified wood, citing that the consumers have the prices as one of the main factors put into the account in a purchase, the lecture makes it clear that price is indeed an important factor, but only if there is a big difference between two products, if such a difference is minimal, it does not end up affecting the consumer behaviour, their decision to buy or not something. As was the case with eco-certified wood which is said by the lecture of nor being very much more expensive than ordinary wood. And lastly, comes the argument by the reading, stating that it would only make sense to invest on eco-certified wood if Americans companies were to sell abroad, given that fact that internally, where most of the national production of wood is consumed, that would be useless, given the current satisfaction of the American consumers with its products, the lecture would be against this argument, saying that not caring about this international trend of greater care for environmental causes would put at risk the America companies that would be replaced by the foreign companies selling eco-certified products to an ever-increasing public.
