The two maps not only reveal the current layout of the centre of a small town called Islip, but also suggest its projection in the future. Overall, it is notable that there will be more facilities constructed in the planned development.
Referring to the current distribution, the town centre is connected by a main road, which will be demolished in the future plan. Besides, there are several shops distributed by the both sides of the main road, to which, the north is occupied by countryside area and the south is taken by place of residence. To each end of side paths from the main road, there are a school and a large park.
As to the transporting projection, the town centre will be circled by a dual carriageway, and a pedestrian street will replace the space for the current main road. In addition, a couple of shops will be dismantled and make place for the projected bus station and car park.
For other facilities not mentioned, two residential areas will be added respectively by the pedestrian street, and the construction need to lessen the space for original park. Last but not least, a large shopping centre will be constructed by the north of walking street.
