The pie charts illustrate the proportion of water used for three main purposes such as Industrial, Agricultural and Domestic use in six regions of the earth.
It is clear from the charts that the percentage for Agricultural use is by far highest during the research period.
Central Asia and Africa are the areas which use highly water for agriculture with about 88% and 84% respectively, whereas this figure for Europe is lowest nearly a third. In North America and Europe water mainly used for industry which can be seen 48% for the former and 53% for the latter, followed by South East Asia (12%) and South America (10%), while there are only 7% for africa and 5% for Central Asia for water consumption.
19% of the total usage in South America is in domestic use, which meant that water used far more than the other areas, followed by Europe (15%) and North America (13%). The minimum consumption of water can be seen in Central Asia and South East, which both only accounts for 7% of total water usage.
