In this set of materials, the reading passage states 3 main reasons why forestry companies in the United States wouldn not decide to adopt an eco-friendly certify on their wooden made products. However, the professor refutes all the reasons made in the article and his reasons are as follows.
To start with, the passage points out how american costumers are used to tons of advertising and publicity claims that they are most likely to reject since they will not trust them. Nevertheless, the lecturer denies this theory as he explais that nowadays the average costumer do not treat advertising in the same way at the moment to buy a product and there is a big chance to get their attention and agreement with verified and international organizations.
Secondly, the reading contends that it is not affordable for the costumer to buy this type of products since their production is more expensive than the nomal wood, causing the final product to be high on price considering the rest of similar products offered in the market. The profofessor argues that costumers sure are interested in paying cheaper prices for their goods, but they only take this extremely in count if the price of a product is more or less than than another.
Lastly, the article shares that United States should not be interested in this type of certify since they are marketing american products for the american market, calling the attention of costumers since it has been a succesful business. Conversely, the professor mentions that United States should be, in fact, worried about foreign competition instead of investing all their attention inside their own country, because its is very attractive for costumers these news products that United States does not produce and offer itself.
In summary, the passage tries to convience the reador through three reasons why it is a good idea for the United States to not to certify and sell ecological wooden products, while the teacher in the reading contradicts these 3 prompst through examples and mentioning consumer behaviour.
