this article states that asteroids which made from rock ice, are a better option for human colonization than Mars and give three reasons. The speaker says that human colonization in these asteroids is not as much easy as the author believes and refutes each author's reason by saying that there are several serious downside for each reason.
First, the article posits that low gravity in these asteroids make them better habitat for human than large planet with big gravity. it adds this feature make landing of spacecraft easier and the spaceship can bring more equipment also with this low gravity the spacecrafts will have easier takeoff and they need less fuel for transport. however, the lecturer opposes this by explaining that this low gravity has a big risk for human health in long time. he avers that human colonist will be losses their body muscles and bone density after standing for long time.
Second, the article claims that these asteroids have valuable minerals such as gold and platinum which ca be minded and transport to earth. In contrast, the professor refuse this by saying that maybe these elements will be valuable but cost of mining and transferring them to earth will be debunk their profit. On the other hand if it will be possible and their supply increase logically their prices will decrease in market.
Third, the essay states that asteroids are much closer and it is very easy to reach them especially than Mars that it takes two years for each direction. however, the professor opposes this by saying this that if reaching to them be easier due to their unusual orbit, return from them will be difficult. he adds that return from these asteroid is a big challenge.
