Some students prefer to study alone. Others prefer to study with a group of students. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
In recent times, there has been a widespread debate on the way that students should study. While some of them prefer to study alone to avoid any interruption from other people, I hold the opposite view. I think students should study in a group to get more benefits.
To begin with, scholars will correct any study mistakes when they study together in one group. They can notice each other’s errors faster when they discuss the topic in a group. For example, when I was at Ohio University, I had a physics class about the concept of gravity. I did not understand the concept well from the professor, so I went to some online websites to read about it. It was a very complicated topic, but I was able to understand it. Then, I had a study group with my friends John and Sam. At first, everyone had the time to explain the concept of gravity through his understanding. At that time, I realized that my understanding of gravity was wrong. Thus, my friend John corrected the wrong thoughts about this topic. Indeed, I would not be able to know the truth if I did not have this study group.
Adding to the previous point, when students have a study group, they will understand the information better. They have the time to explain the subject to each other especially if there is someone who does not understand the lecture. For instance, my cousin Alaa used to have a study group with his friends. He likes to elaborate the subject to his friends after he understood it from the professor. Thus, whenever someone does not understand the topic from the professor, he\she will understand it in the study group from Alaa explanation.
On to of that, when scholars study in a group, they will be more concentrated. Most of the time, students fall to sleep when they study alone in their room. Studying in a group will encourage students to proceed and get some energy from each other. For example, I used to study with my friend John at Panera Bread, so whenever I feel tired or dizzy, John makes some exercises with me or asks me some questions to wake me up. Indeed, studying in a group is more energetic than studying alone.
In conclusion, I encourage scholars to have a study group during their school period. This will help them to correct their mistakes, understand better, and be more focus.
