The diagram illustrates the process of producing electricity from geothermal power.
Overall, the production of electricity by geothermal power plant involves five main steps starting from cold water to the electricity produced in generator and the distribution of that electricity.
At the first stage in the producing electricity, cold water is pumped down to the ground from a reservoir to the injection well by a 4.5 kilometres length tube. Subsequently, a geothermal zone is used to convert cold water to hot water. In other words, the geothermal zone also is known as hot rocks, which heat up cold water by moving it through the geothermal zone. The next step is that hot water is pumped up from the production well into a condenser in order to generate steams.
The last two stages are accomplished above ground at the power plant. Firstly, once steams have been generated in the condenser, they are transferred to a turbine and makes the turbine to spin. Ultimately, a generator, which is powered by the rotation of the turbine, produces electricity, which after that is distributed into an electrical grid via power lines.
