The table provides information about the social and economic indicators of four countries namely: Canada, Japan, Peru and Zaire. The data provided is for the year 1994 and according to United Nations Statistics.
Overall, it is clear that Japan and Canada has better living conditions, higher life expectancy and adult literacy rate compare to Peru and Zaire. Similarly, Daily calories supply is more abundant in Canada and Japan.
To start with, Japan had the highest annual income per person at $15760 with almost $3000 difference to Canada, their total amount is ten-fold higher than the income received by every person in Peru and Zaire at $160 and $130, respectively. Both life expectancy rate in Canada and Japan is over 70 years old, while for Peru is only at 51 years old and a little lower to Zaire at 47 years old.
In regards to daily calorie intake, Canada is leading to 3326 calories per person compared to Japan that is only at 2846. Peru and Zaire’s daily calorie is only half of the other two countries. Lastly, Japan and Canada leveled out in adult literacy rate at 99%, it is almost a quarter difference for Peru and apparently, Zaire has the lowest among the four at 34% which means that they have a poor education.
