The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030. ( ielts book 9)
The line graph illustrates the survey of fuel consumption in the United States of America in 2008. Moreover, it reveals the future prognosis of oil till 2030.
Generally, the data demonstrates an upward trend of fossil fuel. However, other energy power utilization in future will be almost constant in the next 5 decades. Initially, the consumption of petrol and oil were erratic in every 5 decades. However, their following outlook of oil and gas over 10 decades will be drastically increased.
On the other side, by comparing coal and natural gas in the past (1980 till 2010), it depicts an unstable trend. Formerly, the American usage of natural gas was 15 quadrillions units. But, coal usage was more with 20 quadrillions units. Whereas, their future forecast of coal will be gradually increased to 25 units. Nevertheless, the natural gas will be leveled off over the period. Finally, the three distinct energy powers nuclear, solar/wind and hydropower from 1980 till 2013 will be leveled off comprehensively.
In short, the graph, statistic delineates the overall prognosis of petrol and oil, which will immensely grow in the following years.
