Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they respond to the specific concerns presented in the reading passage.
The author and the professor hold different views about the possibility of sending human to Mars. The author claims that this mission have some unsolved problems, however, the professor believes those problems can be solved.
Firstly, the author argues that there is a long distance between Earth and Mars and thus astronauts need to have a huge supply of food and water. However, the professor claims this problem can be solved by using a technique that enables astronauts to cultivate crop in spacecraft. Using hydroponic technique give them the chance to use their waste water and also provide them fresh air as the plants adsorb carbon dioxide and convert it to oxygen.
Secondly, the author says that spending a huge amount of time in zero-gravity environment would harm astronauts. In this case, professor states that this problem has been solved before that. According to professor, the astronauts who have spent time in spaceship around the Earth had been faced with this problem, but they have solved the problem by practicing and using specific drugs.
Finally, the author argues that being in Mars atmosphere will expose astronauts to dangerous radiation. On the other hand, the professor points out that sun releases these radiations occasionally. If the spacecraft would equipped with detectors, it can determine the time that this radiation will reach the Mars, so the spacecraft can be sheltered in a safe place in that time.
