The first bar chart compares the proportions of the actual and expected punctuality in a bus company while the second bar chart illustrates how many complaints made by the travellers from 1999 to 2003.
Overall, the real figures for the bus coming on time did not meet the expectations during the period shown. Additionally, there was a drastic increase in terms of passengers’ complains.
Regarding the first chart, in 1999, 86% buses arriving on time which was almost equal to the expected figure. After a year, there was a drop of about 3% in the reality, compared with the same expectation in the previous year. In 2001 and 2002, the expectation fell to 85% while the actual figures climbed back to just over 84%. The following year experienced a surprise when the real percentage for the on-time bus service reached under 85%, which was about 0.5% higher than the expected.
The total complaints from the passengers were approximately 70,000 in 1999; then considerably reaching 100,000 after a year. There was a fall of almost 20,000 complaints in 2001 before gradually rising to 120,000 complaints made by the bus commuters at the end of the surveyed period.
