While your friend was away on vacation, you stayed in his apartment. While you were there, you dropped an expensive bowl and broke it. Write a letter to your friend.
In your letter
• explain what happened
• apologize for the accident
• tell your friend how you plan to make it up to him
Dear Rahul,
How was your vacation? When did you come back? I had enjoyed a lot staying at your luxurious flat in your absence, but unfortunately, I broke a glass bowl accidentally, which was placed on the top right of the dining table. There was no personal intention to drop it on the floor, but it was an accident and happened when I was trying to clean it, as there was some dust on it. Consequently, I tried to fix it using glue, but it didn't work.
I am really sorry about the whole incident, which took place in your absence. Because I broke an expensive bowl, which was really important to you, I am already feeling depressed and regretting my decision to clean it.
However, I would like to ensure that I will buy a brand new similar bowl as soon as possible. If you would like to buy it yourself then I would be more than happy to pay you for it. Being a good friend, we can meet and discuss this matter in more detail at your place.
I am looking forward to meeting you next week. Moreover, we will discuss your vacation experience and will explore trip photos together.
Your best friend,
Sunil Kumar
