The graph below shows the number of enquiries received by the Tourist Information Office in one city over a six-month period in 2011.
The line graph illustrates how many enquiries (in person, by letter/email and by telephone) the Tourist information office in a certain city received between January and June in 2011.
Overall, it can be clearly observed that while “in person” and “by telephone” enquiries received had an upward trend, the reverse was true for those received by letter/email. Though, least number of enquiries were received in person in January, however, at the end it became the highest number received.
At the beginning of the period, about 900 queries were welcomed by telephone which is followed by a slight decline of 100 in Feb., however, the figure rose considerably and remained stable in Mar and Apr at 1000 before significantly rising to 1600 at the end of the period. Whereas, in Jan, just over 400 were received, this number increased steadily to 800 in Mar, afterwards, it grew drastically to overtake ‘by telephone’ enquiries received, reaching its highest level in June at about 1900.
In contrast, the number received by letter/email began the period at just under 800, and dropped marginally and remained unchanged in Feb and Mar at 700. Thereafter, it saw a considerable drop to just below 400 and plateaued till the end of the period.
