Early marriages are bad for personal development
Premature matrimony is a controversial topic these days. In spite of the fact that the world has become considerably urbanized, some rural areas still continue to way behind tremendous rampancies namely early wedlock. From my personal standpoint, tying the knot immaturely should be banned in major countries due to these following reasons.
First and foremost, children upbringing is restricted since teenagers are lack in childcare knowledge. Health also can get affected as early pregnancy can have a negative impact on overall health primarily for female. Furthermore, early marriage leads to a considerable divorce rate. Experts show that 39% American adolescent couples broke up in 2018 and this number is estimated to be higher in a few years time.
Another limitation of getting married prematurely is that it denies the girl child a chance to be well educated. When a girl is married off at a tender age, she cannot be in a appropriate position for finance. Additionally, premature matrimony promotes the oppression of the girl child. In many instances, especially in countries where early marriage is rampant, it abounds that women mostly work at the domestic level or have opted to run their own businesses, which denies them economic power.
In conclusion, while it can be argued that getting married immaturely is acceptable in some parts of the world, I believe early matrimony is a social catastrophe owing to the aforementioned disadvantages. If young couples practice monogamy, their future options may be severely restrained.
