The article discuss about the advantages of groupthinking and support it with three reasons. However, the professor doesn't think so and states that group thinking has considerable disadvantages and refutes each of the article's claims.
First, the article states that group discussion gives us the better approach to problem solving and idea creation. However, the professor doesn't think so and state that group discussion sometimes make decision which are worst. Because, in group discussion individual thinks as a whole . So, the decisions made by group discussion are irrational.
Second, the article avers that in team respsonsibiltiy is spread around, so thatheir is no individual to blame if decision leads to failure so team disussion will gives the relevent solution. Howver, the professor refute this point by stating that often the indivual memeber are ignored in the team. He gives the example for research team where opinion of researcher was ignored by the management team.
Third, the article states that group discussion encourage motivation in tem members. To cast doubt on this point the professor gives the example of legislation team where the team feels vulnerable when they were not able to catch single individual. The team feels that they are outsmart by the one individual. He also states that team memebrs often reassume each others. He also gives the example of Fiasco automobile failure to support his point.
