Over one decade, the amount of people who immigrates into British exceeds that of residents leaving UK every year. Both statistic figures witnessed a steady rise within 10 years. As a result, the net number are positive all the time.
To be precise, nearly 300 thousand individuals decided to leave for another country while approximately 450 thousand ones became British residents in 1999. The two numbers reach respectively over 400 thousand and 600 thousand in 2008. It’s noticeable that the trend of emigration reach a stable phase after 2004 and people choose to emigrate declined in 2007 but bounded up in 2008.
The net increase of new British citizen remained nearly unchanged in the period of 1999 and 2003. In 2004 which was a peak year, the total British members rises 200 thousand people.
