In education spehre, many people have researched that how to teach students effectively. some teachers view praise as important tool to advance student’s academic performance. From this perspective, some education scholars argue that it is desirable to prasie postive aspects of students and ignore negative spheres. I strongly agree with this opinion for three reasons.
First and foremost, it is most effective method to mention postive apsects of students’ behaviors, because most students like to be prasied in a classroom. In fact, not only students but also general people usually prefer hearing a praise for their behaviors. however, since students are most sensitive age group, sometimes a few students show a rapid development in their academic performance, when they were prasied by a teacher. it is not surprising that already many teachers in schools used a praise to stimulate student’s talent. According to the reaserach, students who was often praised for their behaviors tended to study hard compared to other generall students. In South Korea, there is old saying that a praise can make a whale to gladly dance. therefore, from these examples, praise would be effective way to help students to advance in academic performance.
further, praising would be another important method to make desirable realationship with students for teachers. As is well known, more and more teachers have difficult teaching their students because sometimes, there is no familiartiy between teachers and students with grade, attendance problem. In this condition, praising is effetive way for teachers to make good relationship with students, as students usually want to receive a praise from other people. For example, if a teacher has a not good relationship with students, he would often encounter hardship or trouble because people have a tend to not listen to his teaching. however, it is possible that the teacher makes a better relationship with their students, mentioning their postive behaviors. Thus, the teacher can easily teach their students in familiar cincumstance. therefore, mentioning postive apsects of students would help teachers to communicate with their students.
Of course, some people would argue that ignoring the negative behaviors of studenrs could have negative effect on their growh because they don’t feel guilty for a bad behaivor. however, it is not effective for teachers to mention their fault because they sometimes view these mentions as attack. In fact, most people often easily angry when someone criticize them even for righteous reasons. further, although someone would be concious of own shortcomings, it is difficult for them to correct. if a teacher tried to amend a student’s false behavior mentioning it, although teacher’s obejctive was desirable, this attempt might be likely to stir up student’s emotion. therefore, from effective teaching, ignoring student’s shortcoming would be allowed on the condition.
In conclusion, a praise is effecitve method to advance in academic performance of students and make good relationship between teachers and students. Of course, some people would one of the teachers’ responsibility is correcting students’ fault in the classroom. however, a postive effect of a praise is distinct, while mentioning a negative trait of students is not effective one. therefore,
