The given bar chart provides comparative data about ten countries which generate and consume the most electricity in the year 2014.
Overall, it is evident that China and the USA surpassed all other countries in both production and usage of electricity while the Republic of Korea ranked last in the chart. Notably, Germany is the only country to consume more than its ability to produce.
As can be seen from the illustration, the figure for China’s electricity generation registered a hefty 5,398 billion kWh, which is roughly 1,000 billion above the USA and more than five times that of Russia. The same is true for their consumption numbers with Russia closely equal its production and consumption. Meanwhile, Japan and India ranked fourth and fifth respectively. Canada finished sixth generating more than 600 billion kWh while using only 500 billion kWh.
Looking at the chart in more details, Germany’s consumption figure exceeded their producing capacity of nearly 60 billion kWh. Despite generating and consuming ten times less than China, Korea, Rep still managed to get a place in the top ten countries.
