Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The rules that societies today expect young people to follow and obey are too strict.
On temporary society, proper rules for young people serve as the catalyst for the future. however, people can't help wondering whether the rules are too strict for today's young people. From my perspective, I cling to an unshakeable view that the rules are certainly too strict and young people are not supposed to always follow the rules.
To begin with, a lot of rules are not reasonable in today's society. As we all know that, people who made the rules are usually elder people. Indeed, compared with young people, they are definitely more experienced and maturer. Yet, I reckon that, with the advent of technologically advanced society, many of these rule have been out of date and old people should not blindly require young people to obey them. I can think of no better illustration than my own experience. Whenever I want to hang out, my parents would always prevent me from wearing colorful clothes, only because they think people should be modest and not to show off. however, it is every young people's nature to be well dressed up. There are still numerous of examples, such as not to use computers, not to eat ice creams and so on. I believe these kind of misunderstanding and generation gap are commonly exist in today's rules. Thus, the rules are actually too strict.
On top of that, young people should pursue for better in their own ways rather than by obeying rules. Nowadays, internet is enjoying an increasingly high popularity among young people, at the same time, it also provide us with more opportunity to learn about the society. For example, Facebook, Instagram, so many social communication applications have come into young people's life, teaching them how to get along with others. What's more, many scientific journals, such as Science and nature also have online publications. Undoubtedly, internet has become young people's unique and efficient way to promote themselves, why should we always require them to the old rules?
Admittedly, less strict rules, to some extent, have their undenied detriments. For instance, young people are not mature enough, which means they might do things rationally and result in terrible consequence. however, only by giving them freedom can they fully exploit their potential to reach their peak.
All in all, due to above mentioned reasons, I reinforce my point that young people should be free from today's strict rules. it is their own ideas and creativity that can make human's future better.
