The persuading techniques used in out lives and not only
The population on the Earth is growing at an unprecedented scale and so is the demands and requests of this population for satisfying its needs and necessities. The briefest reflection on the modern world reveals that the tendencies to persuade people to do what you want are becoming more and more common and popular, not only in the business sphere, but as well in the private life. While one may be absolutely convinced that these persuading techniques don’t work out at all, the cutting-edge and path-breaking explorations argue that this is in fact a case. How often have you met them in a private life? Or even over - have you ever faced them in your life?
Having analyzed the data in business activities over the last decades, the British scientists published the outrageous results – never in the recorded history has the terrorism of mass e-mailing and cold-calling been as widely spread as it is today. Indeed, all we can be said to have got at least several times these irritating e-mails with eye-catching pictures and haunting song-tracks which are pushing us to buy a good, to subscribe to something or someone, to attend an opening of restaurant/café/mall/fitness-center etc. Coming back to the British explorations, there is as well the proof of viability of these techniques – there have been observed a tremendous increasing and inevitable peaking of selling customer-goods via the Internet services as Amazon, E- bay over the last year.
The other aspect of corporations’ influence on us must be pointed out here shortly. Using the quantitative methods for processing the unstructured data – such as satellite images, statistics of web-sites interested for users etc. – can be estimated as the new, quite a perspective tool for developing in this direction, direction of persuading people to do what the corporations want. However, that is all about how the business can affect us, but what about the impact that we can have on the other people or they can on us?
While, the techniques mentioned above are powerful and prominent, so are the way of convincing used in the daily routine. The experiment which took a place in this case in the USA delivered the evidence of these claim. Using “the magic words” – such as “please, may I …” or “there is a huge exigency because my daughter…” etc.- for persuading people plays a crucial role in this story. Were it not for using them, getting the ultimate aim, for instance - to pass the queue, would be almost impossible. Having processed the aftermath of this trial the conclusion was as obvious as a nose on your face – giving a reason to other people why you are asking for a favor can be a significant tool for persuading and getting what we want.
In conclusion, it can be said there is blizzard of methods for receiving the target used not only in a private life, but also in the business spheres, especially in the business spheres. Given the humankind history and taking into consideration the recent breakouts, it can be easily concluded that the ceiling in this direction has not been reached yet. The huge achievements are waiting for us and there is no a need to retreat a Luddite attitude to them.
