Essay topics:

In recent years, many small local shops have closed because customers travel to large shopping centers or malls to do their shopping.
Is this a positive or negative development?

Nowadays people prefer to go to huge department stores and shopping malls and this has resulted in the closure of considerable numbers of small local shops. Although there are some drawbacks to this trend, I would argue that it is a quite positive development.

The main drawback of the trend towards large shopping centers is that many local shop owners have decided to close down for good which has resulted in an increase in unemployment rate in local areas. Those who once used to work at local shops are now forced to travel long distances to nearby town or cities to find a job. In addition, local shops usually sell specialties and home-made products which are specific to that area and with the closure of these stores, their unique products are also going to disappear gradually.

Despite the negative points mentioned above, I believe that shopping malls have several benefits for the consumers. Firstly, customers can find a remarkably wider range of products to choose from. For example, if you visit the cheese counter at a department store, you will be amazed at the various types of cheese you could purchase. Secondly, the products at shopping malls are usually much cheaper than those at local shops because they have been purchased from producers in large scales. Last but not least, since you can find almost everything on your shopping list at large department stores, it is much more convenient and time-saving in comparison with small local stores.

In conclusion, while I recognize the probable drawbacks of consumer's tendency towards large shopping malls, I consider it to be a positive development overall.

In recent years, many small local shops have closed because customers travel to large shopping centers or malls to do their shopping. Is this a positive or a negative development?

In the contemporary era, it is being noticed that small businesses are at a declining trend. Marts and malls have become a need, and sooner or later, the future of individual trade will vanish. As I would have maintained, indeed, it is an adverse impact on the economy as well as society. In this assessment, a few reasons will be discussed, and afterward, conclude with the final summary.

To begin with, due to a rapid shut down of tiny markets, a raised in poverty noticed. Since new huge departmental stores appeared, the significance of retail outlets futile. Unfortunately, a plethora of small investors quite from the commerce, and due to this economy suffers because accumulates of fund pull out. For example, Pakistan, where several trivial investor contributes toward the economy which brings growth in the country. Hence, repercussion symtoms may take place if large outlets capture the markets.

Moreover, Unemployment is the biggest challenge which has to face in connection with closed down sole business. Every shopkeeper normally creat one or two jobs, but when owners survive in their trades, in these circumstances, they may take harsh verdicts. The UAE, for instance, considerable retail business wipe out, and numerous people jobless. Then, unprivileged groups will further fall down in improvised situation.

On the flip side, although, well organized and stunning malls are boosting sharply, it is also spreading opportunities to consumers to buy everything under a roof. In particular, a lot of retail channels are operating in almost every eminent metropolitans at reasonable prices.

To sum up, nowadays, small enterprises are losing their recognition just because of the new entrance of considerable large chains. In best of my opinion, business are indeed expending, and competitions are essential but must dim on small trades whose bread and better just depends on retail business.
