Nations should pass laws to preserve any remaining wilderness areas in their natural state, even if these areas could be developed for economic gain.

The full exploitation of wilderness areas where coal, wood, and gas are depleted brings benefits for economy in the short term. However, people today aware that these areas have an important role in protecting environment, scientific research, and economic gain, so keeping remaining wilderness areas has more advantages for humans in the long term.

First and foremost, these areas help people avoid natural disasters, reduce pollution, and protect animals. In fact, forest likes walls can barrier flood, and the wind of hurricanes can be weakened. Moreover, these areas provide more fresh air for the atmosphere that can decrease pollution and the greenhouse effect. Also, the areas are the habitat of many kinds of animals, and some of which are in danger and thus the deforestation leads to the change of environment, and affect animals’ habitats.

Second, animals’ habits and plants in these areas have been researched, and the information of which are very important for scientists. As a result, natural principles are known, and predictions for the future such as the weather and resources help people to avoid natural catastrophes and to have good strategies in exploiting resources. Furthermore, children have learned from adult how to protect environment and animals. Indeed, when I was a child, I often watched documentaries on the discovery channel, and these movies made me to love animals, and I became a vet.

In addition, using wilderness areas effective, state governments can get more benefits than destroy these areas for others purposes. The assumption is that if a state government wants to destroy a wilderness area in order to exploit coal, wood and land, they will face the problem of pollution and many animals will be killed because of the change of their habitats. On the other hand, the national park in California state in the USA is an obvious evident. With this area, the state can attract more 1000 000 visitors per year who came there for a lot of activities like hiking, fishing, and seeing. As a consequence, hotels, restaurants, and others services will be developed, and the rate of unemployed in this state is smaller than others state in the USA.

All in all, wilderness areas are an essential part of people’s lives. They should be protected not only for people today but also for many generations in the future.
