The two graphs illustrate the number of Japanese Tourist who visited foreign lands from the year 1985 to 19995 and the percentage of it visiting Australia in the same time period.
There were 5 million Japanese tourists in 1985 , 2 percent of which chose Australia. The number of tourists kept increasing at the rate of 1 million per year until the year 1988. The Australian share of it also saw a steady increase till the same year.
The year 1989 saw a drop in the Australian share by 1 percent but the overall number of Japanese tourists kept increasing up until the year 1995 with the only exception being the year 1991 where it saw a slight decline in the numbers. The Australian share also saw a steady rise until the year 1994 ending with a slight decline in the year 1995.
The overall trends shown in the graph have been rising ones.
