The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The picture demonstrates the process of the electricity generation in a hydroelectric power station. This process is divided into two stages which are day stage and night stage. The overview perspective of how it works is that the whole procedure is done using water flow from high to low level.
The daylight stage proceeds using the flow of water to run the turbines to produce the energy. First, the river is connected high-level reservoir. Then, the intake at the bottom of the dam opens to let water flow to spin the turbines which are used to operate the system of power station generator to finally transfer the electricity to National grid using power lines. The water after used is delivered through the underground tube to the reservoir.
The night stage is possibly done by the flow of water in the opposite direction using turbines as a pump to take water back to high-level reservoir. The generation of electricity in the hydroelectric power station repeats daily respectively.
