Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
In this progressive and sophisticated world where we live in, human beings have been looking for best ways to have social prestige and valued by society. Individuals' values have been changed dramatically during the decades. Many people believe teachers were more appreciated and valued by society in the past than today. However some others have an opposite point of view. In my vantage point, teachers were more valued in the past. In what follows, I will elaborate on my perspective.
First, it is significant to be mentioned, with the advent of technology many tasks have been made easier so people do not need teachers in order to be an educated person. To be more specific, teachers were not appreciated by society any more since people can learn anything by searching on internet or watching educational CDs on their computers. In the past, society members used to be depend on teachers to learn lessons and solving problems, but nowadays individuals have access to many resources to consolidate their skills and enhance their knowledge. For instance, my little daughter watches Youtube videos and learn mathematics skills and solve her problems in mathematics by online media groups, thus she does not need her teacher. As a result she, as a small society, does not respect and appreciate her teacher as well as the past.
Another reason which deserves some attention here is that, due to economic critical, many teachers concern about their financial status, so they do not concentrate on their teaching methods. consequently, they were not valued by society members anymore. To put it in other words, teachers in the past were more enthusiastic about teaching and use appealing techniques to attract students' attention. Conversely, these days teachers have been struggling with financial issues, so they do not use their full focus on teaching, and do this job only for money. Hence, the teachers were not appreciated by society.
From what has been discussed above, we can safely reach the conclusion that, teachers were more valued by society in the past. Because, nowadays, there are more beneficial ways for learning and society members use them instead of teachers. Besides, teachers were more avid about teaching in the past, that was valuable.
