A country's leader should always hold the problems of the citizens as their first priority since they are elected to do so. A country's growth is generally measured on the basis of industrial and economic growth and a leader who brings forth such advancements is often regarded as a good and effective leader. However in keeping with the social welfare they should also take into account other factors which are the representatives of a country's growth , as in technological, economical and international relationship growths.
A country's leader is effective only if its citizens are happy and their problems are taken care of. The first and foremost duty of a leader is towards the well being of his or her county's citizens. There is no point in flaunting technological or economical growth or both if the nation's denizen's needs are not fulfilled and proper care is not taken to serve the well being of the country.
Although a country's progress may be defined by its economic and technological growth, the welfare of its denizens are not independent of it.For example if a country is medically advance then its people are subject to better treatments, furthermore a country's economic growth and technological advancements also affect the people's well being. Thus a leader should not only look after the basic needs of resources of the citizens but also take into account the nations other sectors since they may of help in the future. For example a country like India's international relations may not seem important if a greater fraction of people are below the poverty level, but such decisions help in long term growth of the country resulting in the betterment of the citizens themselves.
However a leader should also take into account the people's civic rights and not just economic advancements. If a country's growth in technological , economical sectors is high and the citizens are awarded all their basic needs of resources, however if their basic rights like freedom of speech has been withheld, the citizens will never be happy in spite of their well being having been arranged.
In conclusion we may say that a leaders effectiveness should be measured on the basis of the well being of its country's citizens, since above all this is the prime factor.Additionally the leaders abilities to help the growth of the country in other sectors should also be noted since these may have a long term effect and may in turn help the citizens in the future.
