The listening and the reading are both about globalization. The author of the reading passage states that globalization has benefited the world in a myriad of the way and provides a three reasons for support. However, the lecture professor says that globalization is a heated topic in terms of whether it's advantageous or not and He refutes all of the reasons provided by the author.
First of all, the article posits that globalization fosters the economic growth of a country and he provides an example that like in a developing country, labor is a very cheap so developed nation can build industry there and produce goods at a low cost. On the other hand, the lecturer rebuts it by maintaining that if a developed nation will create the industry in another country because of cheap labor then there will be fewer jobs in their own country. The professor also elaborates on this by bringing up the example of Mexico and the united states' business relations.
Second, Reading asserts that globalization is affected our business in a good way by giving competition. For example, the industry will be producing high-quality products to compete with others. Moreover, Professor suggests that there is always a risk when you rely on another country in business. Professor provides an example, of the crisis in the USA , which influenced the whole of Europe.
Finally , The article claims that globalization also plays a role in protecting our environment. In contrast, the professor opposes this by saying that globalization infact encourages more pollution. He also adds that globalization creates cheap production and cheap production is directly proportional to environmental pollution.
