The graph represents how many grams of the three spreads (butter, margarine, low-fat and reduced spread) were sold from 1981 to 2009.
Overall, the grams of butter and margarine declined gradually, but low-fat and reduced spread had an upward trend. In 1981, most people bought butter, but in 1991 to 2001 margarine spread became more popular. After 2001, low-fat and reduced spread became the highest selling spread.
In 1981, the gram of butter almost 140, it top grams is almost 160 in 1986, after that it declined sharply. The grams of margarine almost 90 in 1981, it reduced to 80 grams first and then went up to 100 in 1991. Until 2001, it was the highest selling spread. In 1996 the grams of low-fat and reduced spreads started from almost 10 and then it decreased dramatically. It has same grams with the margarine spread. Moreover, they were the highest selling spread in 2001.
Although after 2001, the grams of low-fat and reduced spread went down gradually, it still was the highest selling spread from 2001 to 2009.
