Dear sir,
I am an employee of your company working in the software development department. This is to bring to your notice that I want extra hours off from my work on 18th of December however, it would be better for me if you allow for a day.
My grandparents' 80th wedding anniversary is on 18th of December and we are planning to celebrate this magnificent moment with all the children and grandchildren. To do this, we have organized a family get together and party.
I can assure you that my absence hours will be full-filled by doing extra work on Sunday or coming early in the morning in my regular working days. I would check emails, perhaps replay to some of them and be available for emergency phone calls from the office. I have already talked with Riya and she is ready to share some of my responsibilities during my absence from work.
I regret the inconvenience that will be caused due to my temporary absence to you and the rest of the team, but I really need to take the leave off to attend my family reunion.
I am looking forward to hearing from you and your kind cooperation.
