the zebra mussel, a freshwater shellfish native to eastern europe, has long been spreading out from its original habitats and has now reached parts of north america and this invasion can not be stopped. the first reason, the human did not have enough knowledge about this invasion so they can not stop this process, also, the mussel can attach itself to a ship's bottom or can survive in the water that called "ballast water" but this statement is not true because this work lead to the zebra mussel die. the second reason, the zebra mussel are carried to a new habitat, they can dominate it because if there was not enough food for them this was impossible for them to survive like what was in the europe. most important, however, zebra mussel often have no predators in their new habitats, and species without natural predator are likely to dominate their habitats. it is true that zebra mussels have a deficient on other fishes but they have also a positive effect on other fishes like helping to growing faster in population of other fishes.
