You live in an area where the local council has made some changes to regulations. You believe these changes are not good for the residents.
Write a letter to a councillor. In your letter:
introduce yourself
describe the problem
say what you think the council should do about the situation
Dear Mr. Graham,
I am Mary Smith, president of Townsville area. I have been a resident in the area for the last 5 years and am writing to express my concern about the recent changes in the regulations, approved by you.
Due to an increasing number of robberies occurring in the area, the Council has issued that the main entrance of the area will be closed at sharp 10 PM. This can become problematic, as there are many people in the area who work far from home and by the time they reach home it becomes well past 10 PM. Also, for families that have patients in the hospital or those that needs medical help may suffer due to this change.
I believe the council can tighten the security of area by appointing more guards and installing advance security cameras.
I advise you to revise the regulations and make amendments, so that the residents can go back to living peacefully. I look forward to hearing from you on the measures taken.
Your sincerely,
Mary Smith
