The given bar chart reveals how many minutes used in three separate sorts of telephone calls namely local-fixed line, national and international-fixed line and mobiles in the UK and their changes at 1-year interval commencing in 1995 and ending in 2002.
Overall, the total number of minutes for local-fixed line has by far the highest figure among these categories and the opposite was true for mobiles.
At the beginning, the local-fixed line was witnessed at a little over 70 billion minutes in 1995. Meanwhile, national and international - fixed line was only twice lower than local-fixed line with approximately 38 billion minutes. The mobiles was merely around one-third of 10 billion minutes. Over the next 4 years, these kinds of telephone calls were similar in terms of general increase. In particular, local-fixed line peaked at 90 minutes which was the highest data surveyed during 8 years studied while national and international-fixed line and mobiles stood at 50 billion minutes and roughly 13 billion minutes respectively.
From 1995 onwards, the figures for local – fixed line which were seen in an opposite trend compared to two remaining kinds gradually declined to finished at over 70 billion minutes as opposed to national and international – fixed line and mobiles remarkably proliferated during the three final years, about 71 billion and 45 billion in minutes respectively.
