The two maps illustrate various changes of Grange park from its opening in 1920 to present.
Overall, it is evident that the park has been rearranged significantly and more entertainment facilities such as play area and café have been added over the given period.
In 1920, visitors can enter the park from the northern entrance on Arnold avenue or the southern one on Eldon street, but now the park has a new entrance from the underground car park. A fountain was located right at the heart of the park, with a large stage for musicians on the left. At the present, the former was replaced by a large rose garden surrounded by many seats while the latter was destructed to make room for an amphitheater for concerts.
Previously, there were two rose gardens on the north and south of the stage and one on the right of the northern entry, with many seats placed next to them, but now, only the one on the north existed. The northeastern corner used to be space for a pond for water plants while the southeastern one was for a glasshouse. The today picture shows that they are substituted by a cafe, a children’s play area and a water feature respectively.
