Summarize the points made it the lecture you just heard, explaining how they cast doubt on points made in the reading passage.

It has been a controversy surrounding whether bees existed on Earth 200 million years ago. Some people, like the author of the article, think that the discovered old fossil structures that look like bee nets were not produced by ancient bees. In the other hands, some people, like the professor in the lecturer, rebut the arguments in the reading passage.

To begin with, the professor disputes the point in the article that the absence of bees’ fossil 200 million ago indicate that those structures are not bees' creatures. She elaborates on this by pointing out that the specific tree's liquid which is necessary to form a bees' fossil, might not have existed then. This means that bees' body could not be preserved to be discovered by nowadays people.

In addition, the article mentions that the first flower appeared on Earth 125 million years ago, implying that bees are impossible to exist at the time of those fossil structures. However, the lecturer contradicts this argument by suggesting that ancient bees might have lived on other plants. Therefore, the fact of the absence of flowering plants cannot prove that the fossil structures were not created by bees.

Finally, the professor concurs that some structures in modern bees' nests were not found, while she puts the emphasize on other evidences. She says that some chemical evident such as water proofing material was found in that fossil structures, which means that these structures were somehow made by bees.
