The effect of knowing more than one language
Today the world is developing, if you just keep standing, you will always be backward. Consequently, I am constantly learning new information, new knowledge, and interesting cultures. In special, language plays an important role in helping me learn new knowledge in the world. I really respect the saying of a king of the Roman Empire "To be able to access a new culture, the first thing you need to do is to understand their language.". Certainly, there are several effects of knowing more than one language: improving health, having a better job opportunity as well as in life, and bringing great insights into culture and society.
The first effect of knowing more than one language is improving health. When you know more than one language, it will help your brain become more developed. According to some scientific studies, the brain in people who know more than one language tends to be bigger and more flexible than people who only know one type of language in many situations. Because of the brains of people, which moving back between two languages and discovering the appropriate language for each moment. It is making the brain stronger and more intelligent. In addition, understanding more than one language enhances the ability of the senses because they must recognize and distinguish different languages continues to be able to handle it. Moreover, it also helps to reduce diseases such as dementia, or memory impairment because knowing more than one language will make your brain more adaptable as well as increase clarity. Knowing more than one language is very helpful for your health, but it doesn't just stop there.
The second effect of knowing more than one language is having a better job opportunity as well as in life. Nowadays, with the strong development of science and technology, more and more job opportunities in new countries, so understanding more than one language will help you have a better chance to become successful. In the center of the "multinationalization" trend of organizations, knowing more than one foreign language will support you stand out and easily get the job that suits your abilities and qualifications. At the same time, comprehending more than one language will encourage you to become more confident and assertive at work. Some researches from the University of Chicago show that bilingual people are more likely to make greater decisions than people who only speak one language. When you learn a new language, you will face a lot of difficulties. Therefore, if you overcome those difficulties, you will become more and more confident in yourself. Consequently, knowing more than one language helps you to have better job opportunities and in life
The last effect of knowing more than one language is to bring great insights into culture and society. Understanding more and more languages makes it easier to reach new cultures because the culture comes from the language. Now with global developments, people can more easily access information. However, besides the correct information, there is also fake information with reality so knowing more than one language provides to reducing mistakes and misunderstandings in not understanding the language. For example, in the world, there have been many painful accidents from not understanding the language, which has led to meaningless wars. Moreover, comprehending more than one language also enhances the world view. For example, in Japanese, there are two different base words: dark blue and light blue, and thus Japanese learners will get a different way of colors. Therefore, knowing more languages has an important effect on social and cultural.
In conclusion, knowing more than one language had three important effects: improving health, having a better job opportunity as well as in life, and bring great insights about culture and society. Although technology is becoming more modern, it is extremely difficult to start learning a new language. However, just try learning more new languages and it will bring unimaginable effects.
