An art gallery in your town is looking for volunteers to work in the gallery at the weekends. You would like to do some work in the art gallery in your free time.
Write a letter to the art gallery. In your letter
explain why you would like to do unpaid work in the gallery
say what type of unpaid work you could do
give details about when you will be available for this work
Dear Sir or Madam,
I recently heard that you require volunteers to work in the gallery for summer and I would like to apply for this position.
The reason why I am willing to work without payment is that I am a big fan of the arts; I have been studying sculpting for two years now. Since I have no classes for the whole summer, I will be thrilled to help out in the gallery and gain some experience for my future job applications.
Regarding my skills, I am a confident computer user familiar with databasing and cataloguing, so I think I could document all the pieces of art in the gallery and operate their registration information. Despite that, I could also manage guests' bookings for the upcoming exhibitions.
Because of the exams in the college, I will not be available the first week of June; however, after it is done, I am ready to start working with you. Also, I would like to have a flexible schedule if it is possible and to have work hours before the afternoon.
Thank you for putting the time to read my application letter; I look forward to hearing from you in this matter.
Yours faithfully,
Olha Yevtushenko.
