According to data, in 1975,the household using 1 car was highest percentage which stood at 45% while the figure for those using no car was slight lower ,about 43%.Beside,people owning 2,3 cars accounted for a smaller share . However ,over the following 10 years, a significant decrease of 10% was seen in UK population owning 1 car and 20 % in owning no car .But there was a minimal rise in the people using 2 cars (10%) and 3 cars (3%).
In the next 20 years, it is noticeable that the people who owned 1 car still first ranked with unchanged percent. In contrast ,the proportion of UK household having no car continued to gradual decrease and hit the lowest point approximately 23% while the opposite was true for that of owning 2,3 cars in the end of period at around 8% and 18% respectively
