The bar chart gives the data relating to the sum of people learning English, while the pie chart demonstrates the proportion of students' purposes of mastering this language in Vietnam between 2015 and 2018.
Overall, it is evident that the number of pupils who studied English has experienced a sharp increase over the period given. Furthermore, what people mostly expected to do after mastering English was having overseas education.
As are illustrated, in 2015, there were about 8.000 students in the age of 17-24 studying English, compared to 1.000 students in the youngest age group. In terms of purposes of learning, more than a half of people mastered English for studying abroad, whereas the segments of immigration and school graduation are responsible for 19% and 23% respectively.
During 2016 and 2017, the number of students ageing from 17 to 24 has witnessed a significant upward trend from 13.000 to 21.000, whilst others showed a marginal rise. In 2018, the figures of 17-24 age group reached its peak at 40.000 pupils. On the other hand, other segments remained unchanged. With regards to the pie chart, there were more purposes of learning English. While overseas education saw a considerable decline to 43%, work opportunity soared to 25%.
