British Emigration to selected destinations from 2004 2007 presented in a bar chart

Essay topics:

British Emigration to selected destinations from 2004 – 2007 (presented in a bar chart).

The given bar graph compares the proportional change over a period of 4 years in the context of British people who immigrated to a different country out of 5 selected locations(Australia, Spain, New Zealand, USA, and France).

Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the majority of Britishers chose Australia as their favorite destination, followed next by Spain. Although records of France and the USA have shown few fluctuations, the preference for New Zealand witnessed a steady drop down over time.

According to the given illustration, with more than 40 thousand British immigrations, Australia led the entire chart in 2004, dipped a little over 1 year period, before marking 2006 as the peak value year of over 50 thousand immigrants as against 43k by the end of the period. Whilst Spain leveled off at 35k British immigrations during the first two years, the proportion slipped down by nearly 5k in the following years.

The USA and France observed a few upward and downward trends, as the former ranged between 25k to 20k immigrants, while the latter rose significantly by 10k in 2005 after which it plummeted down by nearly half(17k) in 2007. On the contrary, a slow downfall plunged the number for New Zealand to as low as 20k in the final year, compared to 25k in 2004, and remained at the least position for Britishers.
