The diagram below shows the various stages in the production of clean energy ( electricity) in a hydroelectric power plant.
First of all, the water of river gathers behind a high-capacity dam, which pumps into a pipe during the day hours. It is worth noting that the flow of water produces electricity by going down through a canal during day, but it is reversed upwards in the pipe at nights, and then it is carried toward the closed drain damp by means of a slipping tube. Coming to the electricity generation, flow of water during the day pass through the reversible turbines in the power station to produce electricity by an imbedded generator, and then the power lines are driven by generator in order to reach to the national grid. Furthermore, for saving the water used, the low-level reservoir contains the water during the day, then send it up through a reversible turbines at nights.
To conclude, there are different stages for the electricity production in a hydroelectric power station that include using a dam, canal, power station, and low-level to distribute it through the power lines and national grid for different use.
