The supplied tables illustrate how many kilometers a vehicle drives per minute in urban areas of 9 particular nations and the quantity of metropolitan zones in each mentioned country. It is apparent that Canada took the first place in terms of average traffic speed throughout the timeframe except for 1990; additionally, apart from Russia, all of 8 other nations experienced an incline in urban zones.
Looking at the details in the first graph, Italy witnessed a rather noticeable rise in the speed of each driver, which shows a similar trend with that of Brazilian and Spanish – slightly increasing from 52 to 57 and 51 to 61 (1970 – 2030est). The opposite was true with France, UK, USA, Russia and Canada, where a terminal decline of approximately 5 kph was recorded despite a bit fluctuation during the period 1990-2010. After falling and rising to 52 kph, the average speed of Chilean city dwellers was expected to reach a plateau of 51 kph in 2030 – the same as that in 1970.
Moving to the other graph, the most significant increase was surveyed in Italy and Chile, where the number of urban areas in 2030 was predicted to increase nearly 5 times higher than that in 1970, then followed up by France, the USA, Brazil, UK, Spain, Canada. There is an estimation of a fourfold rise in the total cities of these countries in 2030. However, there seems to be no indication of urban development in Russia by the year 2030 as the quantity of metropolitan zones in 1970 was twice as much as that in the foreseen future.
