The two plans show some changes and alterations that were made to the Petersburg Art Museum before and after restoration. Overall ,as can be seen from diagrams, the basic layout of the Petersburg Art Museum has been modified and one new room has been added.
First of all, having looked at the plans, the most striking modification that took place is the merging of the Gallery 2: Modern Art and the Gallery 3: Sculpture and after renovation there was only room for Modern Art. The identical situation can be observed between Gallery 1: Ancient Art and the Classroom 2 where the area of Gallery 1 has been significantly increased. In addition to this, the Cafeteria, which is connected with converted Gallery 1, has been built and after restoration some space near the Museum has been utilized for the Outdoor Sculpture Area. Finally, during the process of renovation only the Lobby and the Classroom 1 have been unchanged.
