Criminal activities happens all over the world at different levels. As a punishment of which criminals are prisoned for their crimes according to intensity of their crimes. It is often discussed but rarely understood topic that punishing culprits with imprisonment for criminal activities is best but some other group of people impose stress on better education as an effective measure to prevent crime. Although i agree that detention of lawbreakers is very important, i think good education also play crucial role.
On the one hand, There are numerous people who get involved in illegal activities intentionally like murder, theft, smuggling etcetera. These crimes are so intense that they cannot be justified and specific punishments are made for them according to level of crime. Imprisonment is something which is important for their wrong doings and criminals should be put behind the bars.
However, Imprisonment is something which is post crime activity but there are many ways by these crimes should be prevented. The main factor is providing a better education to the children which include classes of moral values and social behavior. For instance, the main probable cause of illegal activities of a person is its background and lack of eduction which convert a child into a criminal as they learn whatever they see around them and are unable to get proper guidance of ethics and values. So Proper guidance is important for development a good citizen.
To conclude, though i agree that punishment is very necessary for any illegal doings , i think good teaching plays a very crucial role in prevention of crime as we all agree that prevention is better than cure.
