A nation should require all of its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college.
National education is proved to be one of the crucial tenants of sustained development. As the industrialization relays on continuously growing technology which in turn need specialization, higher education is a must for any developing or developed nation.
Pre-college or pre-university education should be capable of preparing students with the basic information and skills which provide a foundation for establishing their future knowledge in higher levels of education. In a multi-scheme educational system, there is no guarantee that all the graduated students be well-equipped with the so-called basic information and skills. Thus, some students may miss the opportunity to fulfill the admission criteria of higher education institutes while others may enter the colleges and universities with an uneven level of basic knowledge. It seems a chaos.
On the other hand, austere uniformity may suppress the creativity and innovative ideas due to confining every each student to a specific program which may not be appropriate to his/her talents and abilities. An stereotypical example is Albert Einstein who was expelled from elementary school supping to be unable to learn and dull but by applying a different system his mother helped him to find his way as the most prominent and influential scientist of human's history. However, it should be considered as an exception not a routine.
Accordingly, I believe that having a uniform educational program till the start of college studies is rational but there should be some flexibilities and alternative methods parallel to that national program in order to support all the students with their diverse objectives and talents while providing them with the essential basic knowledge and skills.
